Return to Blogging

Its been so long since I've written anything at all, it feels almost strange. The words don't flow as easily as they used to. But writing is a habit I don't want to lose. There are so many distractions, online and offline, it takes a real effort of will to sit down and write when my feelings and thoughts are so easily swept away by every little buzz and ping that comes my way, and I wonder if I have the same emotional and verbal depth I had ten years ago.

But Facebook is such an ephemeral, "happy-happy" place, the photos, links and occasional post don't do justice.

So what do I have to say? Its been a great week for a lot of people in the US, but one huge thing which impacts me personally remains unresolved - immigration reform. And so I wait, another 6 years here, another 10 years there... And every so often paying my dues to get my visa stamped.

While I wait, I house hunt and the Bay Area market looks crazier than ever. Will this ever subside? The balance of power seems terrifyingly skewed, with multiple offers, no contingencies, offers way over asking and so on. Isn't it time for a stock market correction already?
